WINTER UPDATE - FEB 20, 2018

We hope you're having a great winter and getting some of the excellent skiing to be had in the Grand Teton Backcountry. Please continue to be mindful of the snowpack and conditions, as well as your surroundings; as a recent fatal incident just south of JHMR reminded everyone, an avalanche does not have to be large to have severe consequences.
Check the local avalanche forecast before heading out: Bridger Teton Avalanche Center

All visitor centers and campgrounds in Grand Teton National Park are closed for the winter.  Camping permits are required year-round for all overnight trips into the backcountry.  Backcountry camping permits can be obtained Monday-Friday during business hours (8:30-12:00 pm & 1:00-4:30 pm) at the front desk in the Park Headquarters Building.  To obtain a permit on weekends please contact Park Dispatch at (307) 739-3301.
