Recent snowfall in the past weeks has brought cycles of avalanche activity in addition to excellent skiing, and though avalanche activity has slowed down, please watch the conditions carefully and continue to practice safe backcountry travel practices. Be sure to check the local avalanche forecast before venturing out: Bridger Teton Avalanche Center

All visitor centers and campgrounds in Grand Teton National Park are closed for the winter.  Camping permits are required year-round for all overnight trips into the backcountry.  Backcountry camping permits can be obtained Monday-Friday during business hours (8:30-12:00 pm & 1:00-4:30 pm) at the front desk in the Park Headquarters Building.  To obtain a permit on weekends please contact Park Dispatch at (307) 739-3301.
